Pack 558 is based out of Houston, Texas and is chartered by the Bunker Hill Elementary School PTA. Bunker Hill Elementary is located at 11951 Taylorcrest Rd, Houston, TX, 77024. The pack was originally charted in January, 1957 and has been serving local youth for over 50 years. We are in the Mustang District of the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. While the majority of the Scouts in Pack 558 attend Bunker Hill Elementary, we have had Scouts from other schools, both public and private, and homeschoolers. For the last several years, we have typically had between 60 and 70 Scouts from first through fifth grade.
Traditionally Pack 558 has a fall campout, a winter sleepover, and a spring campout. The fall campout is our "big" event and is well attended. Pack 558 events are family oriented and all family members are invited to attend. Our pack meetings are typically the first Wednesday of the month, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Bunker Hill Elementary cafeteria.
Boys can join Pack 558 at any time during the year at any grade level, first through fifth. They do not have to complete the achievements from the previous years and will be grouped with other Scouts in their grade. We are dedicated to providing a quality program for our Scouts.
We're having our kickoff and informational meeting on Thursday 8/24 at 6:30pm in the BHE Cafeteria. If you're considering whether your son might enjoy Scouts, we'd encourage you and your son to join us to hear what Scouts has to offer.
Yours in Scouting,
